WQB Mold Removal is a Watertown, NY-based remediation company built around one idea: tell the customer the truth about what's in their walls, then fix it properly the first time.
Our field techs are equipped with negative-air machines, HEPA filtration units, and borescopes for checking inside wall cavities without tearing the whole thing open unnecessarily.
We carry full liability coverage on every Watertown job, and our dispatchers can usually get a technician on-site the same day a call comes in.
Ask any Watertown property manager who's dealt with a bad remediation job and they'll tell you the same thing: the difference isn't the chemicals, it's whether the crew actually found and fixed the moisture source instead of just spraying the visible mold and leaving.
Our office staff handle scheduling and billing questions directly, so you're never stuck on hold with an answering service when you have a question about your job.
Some of the worst colonization in Watertown homes happens somewhere you'd never think to check.
If a room smells like a wet basement no matter how much you air it out, mold is the most likely culprit. Our technicians can often narrow down the general location just from where the odor is strongest before ever opening a wall.
Water stains on a ceiling or wall, even old ones, mean moisture got somewhere it shouldn't have, and mold often follows within 24 to 48 hours. We can check behind an old repair with a moisture meter in under an hour to put your mind at ease either way.
Sneezing, coughing, or headaches that improve when you leave the house and return when you're back inside are a classic mold indicator. A pattern of symptoms tied to one specific room in the house is often the strongest clue of all.
Discoloration around an HVAC vent frequently means moisture is condensing inside the ductwork itself. Don't assume a small visible patch means a small problem — the portion behind the drywall is often much larger.
From a single bathroom to a flooded crawl space, our Watertown crews scale the response to match the actual problem.
Active flooding and sewage backups get priority scheduling since the mold clock starts ticking almost immediately. We also photograph the damage extensively on arrival, which helps considerably if you end up filing an insurance claim afterward.
We isolate the affected area with plastic sheeting and negative air pressure so spores don't spread to the rest of your Watertown home during the work. We'll also flag any structural repair the job needs and put you in touch with a trusted Watertown tradesperson if it's outside our scope.
Our commercial crews coordinate with property managers on phased containment so parts of the building can stay operational during treatment. Multi-tenant properties in Watertown sometimes need coordinated notice to residents or staff, and our project leads handle that communication directly.
Buying a Watertown home? A pre-purchase mold inspection can catch problems a standard home inspection misses entirely. A written inspection report is available for real estate transactions, refinancing, or your own peace of mind about a Watertown property.
Attic mold often traces back to poor roof ventilation or bathroom exhaust fans venting into the attic instead of outside. Encapsulation and sump correction can be bundled with the remediation itself so you're not paying for two separate visits.
Sealing, grading corrections, and ventilation upgrades often prevent the exact conditions that caused the original problem. A small investment in prevention is almost always cheaper than paying for the same remediation twice.
We keep the process simple enough to explain over the phone in under two minutes.
Tell our dispatcher what you're seeing and smelling, and we'll get a technician on the calendar, often same-day for Watertown addresses. Photos texted ahead of time can help us prep faster.
This step tells us the true scope of contamination before we write a single number on a quote. We point out exactly what we're seeing as we go, not just at the end.
Negative air machines keep spores from traveling to unaffected rooms while the work is underway. We keep the work area as clean and orderly as the job allows throughout.
A final clearance test confirms spore counts are back to normal before we consider the job finished. Any lingering questions get answered on the spot before we pack up.
We quote a flat rate before any work begins, so there's no surprise invoice waiting for you at the end.
Dispatch times in Watertown typically run same-day for active issues, because we staff enough local technicians to avoid the two-week backlog other companies run.
We hand you lab results and a written scope of work, giving you something concrete beyond our word.
Our promise is simple: if the treated area shows regrowth tied to our workmanship within the warranty period, we return and correct it free of charge.
Plenty of companies will happily bill you for remediation on a repeat basis without ever mentioning the actual leak feeding the problem, and that's simply not how we operate in Watertown, NY.
Local reputation matters more to a small Watertown-area crew than a national franchise ever has to worry about, and that keeps us honest about scope, pricing, and timelines.
We stand behind every remediation job with a written guarantee, not just a handshake, because your peace of mind matters as much as the finished work.

The questions we hear before nearly every job.
Response time depends on scheduling load, but same-day or next-morning arrival is typical for Watertown, NY service areas. Weekend and holiday calls are still answered by our on-call dispatcher rather than routed to voicemail.
We quote the full scope up front after inspection, and that number doesn't change unless the scope does. We're happy to walk through the line items with you over the phone before you commit to anything.
Emergency dispatch is available 24/7 for situations where waiting even a day could worsen the damage. We also coordinate directly with plumbers or roofers when the source of the water needs to be stopped before drying can even begin.
We collect air or surface samples and send them to an independent lab for species identification and spore-count analysis. We'll walk you through what the lab report actually means in plain terms, not just hand you a page of Latin names.
Coverage depends on your policy and the cause of the moisture, so we recommend calling your insurer, and we can supply documentation to support a claim. Our detailed photo documentation and written scope of work are formatted to make the claims process as painless as possible.
Timeline depends on the square footage affected and whether structural materials need to be removed and replaced. Drying time after water extraction can add a day or two before remediation itself even starts, depending on how saturated the materials were.
Anyone with asthma or mold sensitivities may want to arrange alternate accommodations during larger jobs, and we'll advise based on scope. We'll always tell you honestly if we think you should stay elsewhere rather than downplay it to keep the job simpler on our end.
We recommend keeping children and pets away from the containment zone until the area passes clearance testing. Once we complete post-remediation testing and the numbers come back clean, the space is safe to use normally again.
Every job addresses the moisture source, not just the visible growth, because treating symptoms without fixing the cause almost guarantees regrowth. We'll also give you practical advice on ventilation, dehumidifier use, or grading changes that can help prevent a repeat issue in your Watertown property.
Our dispatcher can walk you through what an initial visit includes when you call to schedule. Even a phone consultation before scheduling can help you understand whether what you're seeing warrants a visit.
"Removal" implies eliminating all mold entirely, which isn't realistic since spores exist naturally everywhere, while "remediation" means returning spore levels to a normal, safe range. What actually matters is whether your indoor levels match what's normal for outdoor air in Watertown, NY, and testing confirms that.
Surface cleaning with bleach may remove visible staining but rarely reaches spores embedded in porous materials like drywall or subfloor. For small, non-porous surfaces a simple cleaning may be fine, but anything on drywall, wood, or carpet usually needs a professional look.
